Risk of measles infection at Copenhagen airport
The Danish State Serum Institute (SSI) is warning of the risk of measles infection at Kastrup Airport in Copenhagen.
A man infected with measles landed in Kastrup Airport on Monday morning at 8:30 am. The man spent about an hour at the airport before being taken by taxi directly to a hospital in the city.
Since measles are highly infectious, thousands of people are now at risk of infection. According to the SSI, everyone present in the transit area, baggage reclaim area and the arrivals hall around the same time as the infected passenger may be at risk of infection.
The SSI urges passengers who have not had the measles or who have not received the MMR vaccine to contact their doctor immediately.
According to Danish national broadcaster DR, the SSI has contacted all the passengers who travelled on the same flight as the infected man.
