Puigdemont visits Faroes
Catalonia’s ex-leader will be representing his country at a conference on national sovereignty held by Tjóðveldi (the Republican Party) on Friday Joining Puigdemont from abroad will be Kenneth Gibson, a Scottish National Party politician and Member of the Scottish Parliament, and Daniel Goa, a New Caledonian politician elected to head the Caledonian Union in 2012.
Carles Puigdemont visited Denmark in January after receiving an invitation from the University of Copenhagen.
Tjóðveldi’s Member of the Danish Parliament, Magni Arge, used the opportunity to invite Puigdemont into the Danish Parliament.
Arge said at the time that the question of national sovereignty is something that the Faroes and Catalonia have in common.
And now the former Catalan president has accepted an invitation to Friday’s conference at the Nordic House in Tórshavn.
