Faroes drop three places in FIFA rankings
The Faroese national men’s football team has fallen three places to 95 on FIFA’s latest rankings list.
On the European UEFA list, the Faroese team is placed 44 out of 55 member nations.
On Saturday at 5pm Faroese time, the Faroes will play Azerbaijan at Baku’s Olimpyia Stadion.
And on Tuesday at 7:45pm Faroese time the team plays Malta at the NationalStadion in Ta’Qali.
Azerbaijan is ranked 34th on the UEFA list, while Malta is 39th.
After the Nations League games, the next challenge for the Faroese national football team will be the EURO 2020 qualifiers. The draw for these games will take place early next month.
The Faroese female national football team is ranked 44th out of 49th members on the UEFA list, and 84th out of 177 members on the FIFA list.
In February it will be revealed who the Faroese female team will play in the EURO 2020 qualifiers, which starts in June.
