Statistics Faroe Islands has announced the international trade figures for last year and compared them with 2017. The results show an increase in imports and a decrease in exports.
Imported goods accounted for DKK 7.725 billion last year, which is a six-percent increase on 2017. Oil represented the biggest increase in imported goods, up 35 percent on 2017.
Export revenue decreased by nine percent last year, with some DKK 784 million less than in 2017. Pelagic fish represented the greatest decrease in export revenue, going down 28 percent on the previous year.
