KvF TV now in HD
If you have noticed that the images on KvF’s TV channel have become sharper, there is a reason for that.
Up until Tuesday, KvF broadcast its content in standard-definition (SD), but now all content is being broadcast in high-definition (HD).
The last of the Nordic countries
This makes the Faroes the last of the Nordic countries to introduce HD TV. Iceland introduced HD two years ago, and Greenland did it last year.
Although KvF TV’s image quality has now doubled, there is still some way to go to reach the image quality enjoyed by Danes, Swedes and Norwegians.
KvF’s current bandwidth is 4 Mbits, compared with 14 Mbits for Danish national broadcaster DR and 15-22 Mbits for the Swedish and Norwegian national broadcasters.
