Disappointed Týr fans want their money back
Týr is currently on tour in Europe with fellow metal bands Heidevolk and Dalriada.
The tour was scheduled to consist of 22 concerts, but three of these venues have removed Týr from their line-up following pressure from Sea Shepherd activist.
The latest cancellation was in Hannover, Germany, Friday night. However, the band decided to take to the stage anyway and played for 90 minutes, after which they put on t-shirts with a ‘Týr censored’ imprint.
A financial blow
“Our fans are disappointed, and most of them have demanded ticket refunds,” says Týr frontman Heri Joensen.
“This is a financial blow for us, but it is difficult to say at this point what the consequences will be.
“Who knows? Maybe a campaign like this may end up giving us favourable publicity in the long term.”
