16.07.2019 - 14:32
When cargo ship Belbek struck the ground in Kollafjørður on Wednesday, the captain and the first officer were under the influence of alcohol.
On Friday, the court handed them both a conditional suspension on their operating licences, along with fines of DKK 8,000 each.
With the conditional suspensions, the captain and the first officer, neither of whom is a Faroese national, can continue with their work; however, any further transgressions within the next three years would lead to a termination of their licences.
