More than a third of respondents in a new poll say that Aksel V. Johannesen is best suited to continue as Prime Minister.
In two separate polls, polling organisation spyr.fo asked 500 people who they thought should be the next Prime Minister after the 31 August general election.
In the first poll, carried out on 26 July, 30.8 percent said Aksel V. Johannesen. In the second, from 8 August this figure had risen to 37.7 percent.
Second in the poll, with 19 percent of the votes, came Bárður á Steig Nielsen, leader of Sambandsflokkurin (the Union Party), followed by Jørgen Niclasen, leader of Fólkaflokkurin (the People’s Party) with 15.5 percent and Høgni Hoydal, leader of Tjóðveldi (the Republican Party) with 10 percent of the votes.
