New centre-right government formed
Sambandflokkurin (the Union Party), Fólkaflokkurin (the People’s Party) and Miðflokkurin (the Centre Party) have formed a centre-right government.
This became clear when Bárður á Steig Nielsen, who heads the coalition talks, returned from the Speaker’s office this afternoon.
”I have informed the Speaker of the House that A [Fólkaflokkurin], B [Sambandsflokkurin] and H [Miðflokkurin] have agreed to form a new government,” he said.
Nielsen declined to comment when asked about the details of ministries and on who will be the new prime minister.
