First enquiries to minister from new MPs
Two new MPs have submitted the first written enquiries, the so-called “Article 52a” questions, for the new ministers.
Both enquiries are addressed to new finance minister Jørgen Niclasen, who also oversees transport matters, which is the topic of both enquiries.
MP Steffan Klein Poulsen, of Miðflokkinum (the Central Party), wants to know about the minister’s plans for the ‘Norður um Fjall’ tunnels (Klaksvík-Árnafjørður and Árnafjørður-Norðtoftir).
MP Jóhannis Joensen, of Javnaðarflokkurin (the Social Democratic Party), asked the minister whether he is planning to review the bus routes between Vágar and Tórshavn to make it easier for commuters.
Article 52a
Article 52a in the Parliamentary order of business allows MPs to send written enquiries on public-interest matters not previously raised to the relevant minister.
The minister is given ten working days to reply.
Eighty-eight Article 52a enquiries were answered in the last Parliamentary sitting.
