Beware of sharing corona information online
Police are warning the public against websites, social media groups and apps requesting personal details and coronavirus information

01.04.2020 - 18:34

The police are urging people to be wary of websites, Facebook groups and apps asking their users to share their Covid-19 experiences in an effort to determine the number of infected people.

People are advised not to download apps, join private events or engage in other online activities which may seek information about their health.

This information can end up in the wrong hands and may be used for illegal purposes, according to the police, who are keen to point out that these precautions do not apply to sharing information with the Faroese health authorities.
