Iceland not expecting many Faroese tourists
Icelandic authorities announced on Tuesday that tourists from the Faroes were not required to self-quarantine on arrival in the country.
Minutes after this announcement was made, Faroese travellers started enquiring about trips to Iceland with Smyril Line ferry Norrøna.

However, according to the Icelandic branch of Smyril Line, there will not be an explosive growth of tourists coming from the Faroes because they will be required to self-quarantine once they return to the Faroes.
A Smyril Line Iceland spokesperson told Icelandic newspaper Morgunblaðið that they are preparing for an increased number of Faroese tourists, but not many more than the current 20-30 per week.
“But if we receive 100 tourists rather than 20-30, it will make a difference,” the spokesperson said.
