Koks opens pop-up restaurant in Tórshavn
Like most other restaurants, Leynavatn-based Koks had to shut down in mid-March due to the corona outbreak.
Although most corona restrictions are now being lifted, tourists are still not allowed to travel to the Faroes until 30 June.
And with up to 90 percent of Koks’ clientele being foreigners, the management has decided not to reopen the restaurant until tourists are allowed back in.

But rather than just sitting and waiting, the Koks staff have decided to open a pop-up restaurant in Tórshavn for locals, which will be open until the end of June when they plan to reopen Koks.
According to head chef Poul Andrias Ziska, the Roks concept is meant to be something of a "Koks-light", a more casual and more affordable alternative to Koks.
The word 'Roks' has many different meanings, including ‘perfectionist’ and ‘twaddle’.
Located in the Fútastova restaurant house in the heart of Tórshavn, Roks will be serving a five-course menu including cod tartare, rissole with mussels and grilled salad, fermented fish and fermented lamb.
