Ferry restrictions eased
On 18 March, Transport authority Strandferðslan introduced limits on passenger numbers on the country’s ferries to stem the spread of COVID-19.
These restrictions will be eased tomorrow, with increased passenger numbers as well as lounges and decks reopening on all ferries.

Tórshavn-Suðuroy ferry Smyril can now take 500 passengers.
Gamlarætt-Sandoy ferry Teistin takes 150 passengers.
Tórshavn-Nólsoy ferry Ternan takes 90 passengers.
Klaksvík-Kalsoy ferry Sam takes 60 passengers.
Hvannasund-Svínoy/Fugloy ferry Ritan takes 70 passengers.
Sandur-Skúvoy ferry Sildberin takes 30 passengers.
All passengers are asked to respect the public health guidelines on social distancing and hygiene.
