Two fatal work accidents in two days
A 61-year-old man died in a work accident at Kollafjørður harbour on Wednesday afternoon.
A forklift tipped over and fell on the man, who was immediately taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead from the injuries.
The accident occurred on the deck of trawler Næraberg, which was landing fish at Kollafjørður harbour.
Another fatal accident occurred this afternoon in Viðareiði, where a forklift driver got stuck between lifting mechanism and the chassis.
Police and the Working Environment Service are still investigating and have no further details to report on the accident.
The relatives of both men have been informed.
