Incoming travellers head straight out on the town
Five young people arriving at Vágar Airport on Friday headed straight out on the town in Tórshavn.
This is in direct violation of the Covid-19 safety guidelines, which advise people to self-isolate until they receive the result of the follow-up test that they are asked to take six days after arrival.
Police officers last night picked up one of these people on the street after he had passed out from drinking.
Police lack authority
The young man was taken to the hotel where the group of five are staying during their visit in the Faroes.
As self-isolation is a recommendation and not mandated by law, police could only remind the people to respect the health guidelines.
The health authorities announced yesterday that all Covid cases had recovered, meaning that no active cases are left in the country. No new cases have been registered since then.
