Employers want lower taxes and more service charges
Lower income tax and more service charges.
This is the recipe for a more competitive trade policy, according to Føroya Arbeiðsgevarafelag (the Faroese Employers’ Union).
The union has for some time been calling for a review of the country’s trade policy to bring it up to date with the challenges currently facing Faroese industry, and this wish is reiterated in its 2020 annual report.

Fundamental changes need to be made to the current tax and fee system to ensure a competitive trade environment in the future.
The report also calls for an expansion of Faroese trade relations beyond the current trade partners.
“Faroese industry deserves to know the conditions that lie ahead,” concludes the 2020 annual report.
