Man held after violent drug raid in Tórshavn
A 23-year-old man was today sentenced to four weeks in pre-trial detention.
Police are investigating after finding large amounts of illegal substances in the man’s home in Tórshavn yesterday.
Officers found one kilo of amphetamines, 700g of MDMA, 180g of cocaine, 400g of cannabis, along with a sawed-off shotgun and 12 bullets.
One of the officers was injured during the arrest after being punched several times in the face by the suspect.

According to the man’s defence lawyer, he denied possessing the drugs and assaulting the police officer. He did plead guilty to possession of the shotgun but claimed that he does not own it.
The prosecution called for a four-week pre-trial detention to prevent the man from influencing other suspects in the case.
The prosecution also requested that today’s preliminary examination be conducted behind closed doors. The defence objected to this request, but the judge upheld the prosecution’s request due to the severity of the case.
