Yet another eight new Covid cases
Just over half of the Faroese population is now fully vaccinated

Eight new Covid cases were registered yesterday, reports corona.fo.

Five were infected domestically. Four of these are linked to known chains of infection, while one person’s infection source has yet to be determined. One tested positive on arrival from abroad and two in follow-up tests the day after arrival.

The daily numbers of positive tests over the past week have been as follows: 7, 9, 8, 4, 8, 8 and 8.

There are currently 91 active Covid-19 cases in the country. One person is receiving hospital treatment for Covid-19, and 346 people are currently listed as being in quarantine.

According to the latest vaccination figures on corona.fo, updated today, 34,017 people (63.8 percent of the population) have received the first shot of the vaccine, while 26,758 (50.1 percent) have received the second shot.
