Faroese whisky is “outstanding”
The fifth offering from Faroese whisky producer Einar's Distillery has received great praise from the iconic Whisky Bible, published by acclaimed whisky critic Jim Murray.
The Whisky Bible is a highly regarded annual compendium which includes reviews of thousands of whiskies.
In the recently published 2021 edition, the Faroese whisky, which will hit the shelves next week, received 94 out of a possible 100 points, a rating categorised in the Whisky Bible as “Outstanding – a whisky of superior character and style”.
Whisky guru runs out of superlatives
“We cannot fully rely on our own tastes, so we decided to send our latest whisky to Jim Murray for a review,” explains Einar Waag, CEO of Einar’s Distillery.
“Jim called us on Monday morning to congratulate us on producing ‘an unusually good whisky’. He almost ran out of superlatives and said that this new whisky is a sign of many more great successes to come from our distillery.”
The highest ever rating awarded in the Whisky Bible’s 18-year history is 97.5.
