Nine new Covid cases

Yesterday’s 942 Covid tests resulted in 9 positive cases, reports corona.fo.

Eight were infected in the Faroes and are linked to known chains of infection. One tested positive in a follow-up test four days after arriving from abroad.

The daily numbers of positive tests over the past week have been as follows: 22, 7, 3, 17, 9, 13 and 9.

One person is receiving hospital treatment for Covid, and 359 people are listed as being in quarantine.

According to the latest vaccination figures on corona.fo, updated today, 38,647 people (72.1 percent of the population) have received the first shot of the vaccine, while 36,713 (68.5 percent) have received the second shot.
