Sixty-five new Covid cases
Five people are receiving treatment for Covid-19 at the now reopened Covid ward at Tórshavn’s National Hospital

Yesterday’s 3,514 Covid tests resulted in 65 positive cases, reports corona.fo.

All infected persons have been notified by the health authorities, and extensive contact tracing is underway.

The daily numbers of positive tests over the past week have been as follows: 15, 26, 38, 89, 78, 99 and 65.

There are currently 437 active Covid cases in the country. Five people are receiving hospital treatment for Covid, and 564 people are currently listed as being in quarantine.

Those wishing to visit patients at Tórshavn’s National Hospital are now required to call the relevant ward ahead of their visit.

According to the latest vaccination figures on corona.fo, updated today, 39,210 people (73.3 percent of the population) have received the first shot of the vaccine, while 37,513 (70.1 percent) have received the second shot.

Plenty of vaccine doses are available to everyone aged 12 and over.
