Second-hand clothes sales on the rise
Second-hand clothes are becoming increasingly popular, at least judging by the sales in the Red Cross stores.
The main store in Tórshavn’s Stiðjagøta (pictured above) enjoyed record-high sales last year, with average daily sales of almost DKK 29,000 and total 2021 sales of DKK 1,239,000.
Sales in this store totalled DKK 866,000 in 2020 and DKK 974,000 in 2019.
Children’s clothes made up about 27 percent of all items sold in the main store last year.
