Poll: no need to amend abortion law
Unlike the other Nordic countries, the Faroe Islands do not offer abortion on demand.
On Friday, 6,186 people provided their answers to the question ‘Should the abortion law be amended?’ in an online poll on news website portal.fo.

Some 49 percent said the law did not need to be changed, while 6 percent said they were neutral on the matter.
The remaining 45 percent said the existing law should be amended.

According to news website in.fo, it is unlikely that any proposal regarding abortion on demand will be introduced in Parliament anytime soon, despite many opposition MPs calling for such a law change.
