A total of 168 candidates representing seven political parties are running for today’s general election

39,017 people are eligible to vote in today’s election. This is an increase of 1,196 on the 2019 election.

This year, voters can pick between 168 candidates representing seven political parties. In the 2019, there were 179 candidates representing nine parties.

Of the 57 polling stations across the country, the á Hálsi sports hall in Tórshavn is by far the largest, with 13,182 registered voters. The smallest is in Hattarvík, Fugloy, where 10 voters are registered.

Polling stations open at 10am and will remain open until 8pm or as long as there is a steady stream of voters.
