Javnaðarflokkurin sweeps to victory
Aksel V. Johannesen is the most popular politician for the third consecutive general election

With 26.6 percent of the total vote, Javnaðarflokkurin ('C' - social democrats) won the general election by a considerable margin and now has nine seats in Parliament.

The winner of the 2019 election, Fólkaflokkurin ('A' - conservatives) slumped to third and lost two seats.

Framsókn ('F' - liberals) gained a seat and now has three, while Sjálvstýri ('D' - centre social-liberals) lost its sole seat.

Sambandsflokkurin ('B' - unionists), Tjóðveldi ('E' - republicans) and Miðflokkurin ('H' - centre-right Christian democrats) all retained their seats – seven, six and two, respectively.

Javnaðarflokkurin party leader Aksel V. Johannesen received the highest number of personal votes for the third consecutive general election, with 1,961 votes.

Next up was the new leader of Fólkaflokkurin, Beinir Johannesen, who obtained 1,688 votes.

Another remarkable result in the top 10 for personal votes is Framsókn leader Ruth Vang, who obtained 981 votes. In the 2011 election, she received 98 votes, increasing to 169 in 2015 and 265 in 2019.
