A big step toward better road safety

The Faroese Road Safety Council has for years been calling for a road accident committee that can investigate traffic accidents.

“This is exactly what we need to improve our preventive work,” says Lovisa Petersen Glerfoss, who heads the Road Safety Council.

“A big obstacle in our work is our lack of data. An accident committee will greatly improve our ability to use the data we have as we can base our campaigns on the results from the committee’s investigations.”
Another objective for the committee is to improve communication between police and the health authorities in connection with traffic accidents.
