The 36-year-old Danish coach will also be working with the clubs to develop Faroese women’s football in general.
“We are delighted to announce Signe as our new head coach for the women’s national team,” said FSF’s technical director Pætur Smith Clementsen.
“Signe has solid and highly relevant experience, and her personality and her values fit well with our high ambitions for Faroese women’s football.”
An exciting challenge
Andersen is looking forward to the challenges ahead.
”I’m incredibly excited to start in this job. I have a very positive impression of Faroese football as a whole and I see many exciting opportunities in the efforts that are made to promote women’s football,” she said.
“The combination of working with the national team and the clubs is just perfect for me.”
Solid experience

She has won five Danish championships and played in Champions League quarter- and semi-finals with Brøndby in the early 2010s.
