Join the big bird count

Føroya Fuglafrøðifelag, the Faroese Ornithology Association, invites members of the public to take part in Global Big Day, an annual celebration of birds.
“It’s easy and anyone can join in,” the association writes in a press release.
Some 51,500 volunteers from 201 countries too part in last year’s Global Big Day, and more than 7,600 bird species were observed. Sixty-two bird species were observed in the Faroes on last year's Global Big Day.
To take part, register with eBird, spend a few minutes observing a bird, then enter details such as species and location into the app.
eBird is a large database where members of the public are invited to submit their bird observation data. The database includes information about all bird species observed in the Faroes, including more than 2,700 photos of birds in the Faroes.
