Pay rise for GPs
A GP who has a catchment area of 1,700 people, for example, will receive an annual pay rise of approx. DKK 80,000.
With the new agreement, a GP’s monthly base salary increases from DKK 19,000 to DKK 21,000. The fixed allowance for each citizen in the catchment area increases from DKK 214 to DKK 246.
In other words, a GP who has a catchment area of 1,700 people will receive an annual base salary increase of DKK 24,000 and an annual fixed allowance increase of DKK 54,400.
The early retirement allowance will increase from 10% to 15%.
GPs will now also receive higher payments for house calls. The finance ministry is hoping this will help ease the pressure on GPs as patients tend to be discharged from hospital sooner than in previous years.
According to the agreement, the GPs’ Association and the finance ministry agree to review the substitute doctor system so that substitute doctors and GPs will be given the same duties.
The two parties have also agreed to continue working towards better cooperation between GPs and the authorities in an effort to improve the service. These further negotiations will include areas such as the emergency call service, the cooperation board, the Cosmic IT system and insurance matters.
The total annual appropriation for the national GP system will increase from DKK 65 million to DKK 68.2 million, according to a Ministry of Finance press release.
