Provider given green light for eco discounts

Parliament has granted power company SEV the authority to offer discount prices to people who use heat pumps or electric cars.
Nineteen MPs voted in favour of the bill and 14 voted against at yesterday’s third reading.
The bill authorises SEV to lower the prices for heat pump or electric car users by DKK 0.40 per KwH.
An example mentioned in the bill is a household using 8,000 KwH per year, which would save DKK 4,000 per year under the new amendment. If the household’s electric car uses 4,000 KwH per year, this would amount to another DKK 2,000 in annual savings.
Other users will have to pay DKK 0.125 (incl. VAT) more per KwH when electricity prices go up on 1 January. I other words, an average household using 6,000 KwH per year will need to pay DKK 750 more per year.
