Housing package put on standby
When MPs went on their summer break earlier this month, so did the government’s housing plan.
National housing association Bústaðir was due to receive a DKK 250m loan authorisation earmarked for building and selling flats.

But the loan authorisation bill had not been finalised by the Financial Committee when MPs went on their summer break on 4 May.
No new contracts
Bústaðir is currently working on nine building projects across the country, which will provide 209 new flats.

These projects are fully financed, but due to the lacking loan authorisation, no new contracts can be signed until the parliamentary summer break ends.
Bústaðir CEO Andras Róin remains hopeful that this authorisation will be processed and approved as soon as MPs return from their summer break.
