A Faroese supply ship made contact with a North Sea oil drilling rig last Friday night

Last week, supply ship Sjóborg hit the Statfjord A oil rig in the North Sea.
The ship’s mast and equipment attached to the mast was damaged, and the backside of the hull received a dent from the impact.
Sjóborg’s damage is currently being seen to at a shipyard near Stavanger in Norway.
Oil rig staff evacuated
Some 276 staff were working on the Statfjord A oil rig when the incident occurred as part of a water supply operation. They were all evacuated immediately.
The rig received some damage from the impact, but after the general strength of the rig was assessed, the workers were allowed back to work.
