The consumer watchdog has found no evidence of misleading price reduction in catalogues
24.06.2019 - 18:50
The consumer watchdog recently investigated catalogues from two leading electronics and domestic appliance stores.
Spot checks revealed that both companies could provide document proof of the correct price reduction advertised in their catalogues.
The companies were informed that such spot checks will now become a regular feature.
The marketing law states that an item must have been available at the advertised original price for at least six weeks for the original price to qualify as a ‘before price’ in an advert. For groceries, this period is four weeks.
