Faroes win European Open
The Faroese under-17 national handball team last night made international sports headlines by winning the European Open in Sweden

After a string of impressive wins in the early rounds of the European Open, the U17 handballers topped off a great week by beating host nation Sweden in the final.

It was an even match but in the last 15 minutes, the Faroese players upped their game and took control of the match, which ended 36-29.

Twenty-four European national teams took part in the European Open.
