Centre-right coalition talks underway
Three opposition party leaders have called on prime minister Aksel V. Johannesen to resign.
The leaders of Fólkaflokkurin (the People’s Party), Sambandsflokkurin (the Union Party) and Miðflokkurin (the Centre Party) have been showing signs of a centre-right coalition ever since Saturday’s election results became clear.
Initial talks included Sjálvstýri (the Self-Government Party), but these talks soon broke down, and the three remaining party members have now requested that the Prime Minister stands down.
