Dramatic shooting incident in Miðvágur

Yesterday at 6:25pm, police received a report of a man in Miðvágur who was threatening to take his own life.

The person who reported the incident said the man was carrying a shotgun and that he was threatening to use it.

Officers returned fire

When police officers arrived at the scene, the man fired numerous shots at them. One of the shots hit an officer, but he was not seriously injured, according to a police press release.

The officers returned fire, and one of the shots hit the man. The man’s condition is currently unknown.

As Faroese police officers were actively involved in the incident, further investigations will be carried out by the Danish state police.
