More than 100 adults are awaiting an ADHD test, and another 150 are currently receiving ADHD treatment.

This waiting time may soon be reduced significantly as the government is planning to open a clinic for adult ADHD.

According to the plan, the clinic will consist of a senior registrar, a psychologist, a medical social worker, a nurse and a medical secretary.

Clinic will raise public awareness

The annual running costs of the ADHD clinic are estimated at DKK 3.3 million.

Bjørg Dam, chairwoman of the ADHD Association, says this is a big victory for ADHD sufferers, especially in terms of recognition.

“Having a dedicated ADHD clinic will go a long way towards increasing the public awareness of this disorder,” she says. “It will also make it easier for potential ADHD sufferers to seek help.”
