No pre-emptive steps taken to combat Corona virus

The Chief Medical Officer of the Faroes met with health minister Kaj Leo Holm Johannesen on Wednesday to discuss the national response to the Corona virus threat.
“The meeting was primarily agreed as a measure of informing the health authorities of the current situation and the current level of preparedness in the Faroe Islands,” says Chief Medical Officer Lars Fodgaard Møller.
He says that the health authorities are sufficiently prepared should the virus spread to the Faroes, and plans are in place on how to transport infected patients out of the country if this should become relevant.
But other than that, no concrete pre-emptive steps will be taken in this context, he adds.
