12 new corona cases and 11 new recoveries
Twelve people were added to the list of infected people this morning, bringing the total up to 92.
But along with this morning’s figure came the news that 11 new recoveries had been registered.
When adding the three other recoveries from the past few days, the total number of recovered people is 14.
This brings the total number of active corona cases to 78.
Two symptomless days required
”An infected person is considered as fully recovered after 48 symptomless hours. At this point they are no longer regarded as carrying the virus and are released from quarantine,” says consultant doctor Bjarni á Steig.
This means that an infected person can be released from quarantine earlier than those with whom he or she has been in contact.
“Those quarantined as a result of contact with an infected person are required to continue their 14-day quarantine because this is the period in which they are considered virus carriers.”
A total of 1,942 people have now been tested.
