Two new corona cases
After five days with no new corona cases, two new positive tests were announced this morning.
According to consultant doctor Bjarni á Steig, both of these persons travelled to the Faroes from abroad and went into voluntary self-isolation during which time they noticed corona-like symptoms and decided to get tested.
"This indicates that our quarantine policy is working," says the doctor.
Nine active cases
This brings the total number of corona cases to 187. With 178 recovered, the current number of active cases is nine.
The official number of people in quarantine is 24, and the hospitals remain free of corona patients.
A total of 6,375 tests have been carried out. For more information about the corona situation in the Faroe Islands, visit corona.fo.
