Hotels bounce back from Covid slump
In July, 72 percent of hotel rooms were occupied, compared to 8 percent in April

Faroese hotels are starting to recover from an all-time low in terms of visitor numbers earlier this year, reports Statistics Faroe Islands.

The low point came in April, a few weeks after the Covid-19 lockdown, when visitor numbers reached 8.1 percent.

Since then, there has been a steady increase, rising to 16.7 percent in May, 24.5 percent in June, and in July, the figure had come up to 71.8 percent.

There is, however, some way to go to reach last July’s all-time high figure of 90.4 percent.
