Faroes beat Malta and Israel

Håkan Ericson enjoyed an ideal start as the new head coach of the Faroese men’s national football team.

The team won yesterday’s UEFA Nations League game against Malta at Tórshavn’s national football stadium. With two quick-succession goals in the final minutes of the match, the Faroese team managed to turn what looked like a 1-2 defeat into a 3-2 victory.

The squad will now travel to Andorra for the next game on Sunday.

The Faroese U-21 national team also came out on top in their UEFA 2021 Euro qualifier against Israel.

The game, played at the Svangaskarð stadium in Toftir, Eysturoy, ended with a 3-1 victory to the Faroese hosts.
