Four new Covid-19 cases
Four out of yesterday’s 657 Covid tests came out positive.
All four people are linked to the same known chain of infection. They have been isolated and contact tracing has begun.
The daily number of positive Covid tests over the past week has been as follows: 3, 4, 3, 3, 0, 0, 3 and 4.
No-one is currently receiving hospital treatment for Covid-19.
Location, age and gender
According to the latest figures on corona.fo, updated yesterday, Suðurstreymoy has the highest total number of Covid-19 cases registered in the past two weeks, with 30, followed by Vágar (3) and Eysturoy and Norðoyggjar (1 each).
The 20-29 age group continues to dominate the statistics, with 60 cases registered. Next on the list are the 40-49s and the 50-59s (27), followed by the 10s-19s (25), the 30-39s (21), the 0-9s and the 70-79s (15), the 60-69s (11) and the 80+ age group (1).
The gender split among those infected is 51 percent men and 49 percent women. Foreign nationals are not included in the age and gender statistics, but Faroese citizens living abroad are.
