Pupils start term in ultra-modern new school

The autumn break is over, and 242 pupils started the new term yesterday in the country’s newest school,
Skúlin við Streymin is an extension of the old school in the village of Oyrabakki.
With a project price of DKK 100 million, the new school is the biggest construction project in the history of Sunda municipality.
Pupils from two municipalities
The 5,000 square metre school will house 242 pupils from years 1 to 10 in Sunda and Eiði municipalities, along with 35 staff members.
“The two-storey building is divided into a teaching unit on the ground floor and an administration area, teacher room, canteen and a sports hall on the first floor,” says school principal Sonni Óli Djurhuus.
