Underground parking tunnel planned for Tórshavn

Tórshavn’s City Council has set out plans to construct an underground parking tunnel with space for some 700 cars.

The plan is to dig a 1,000-metre-long tunnel running from below Havnargøta (by the ferry terminal) to Skálatrøð (pictured), by the Vágsbotnur marina.

DKK 4 million has been earmarked in next year’s budget for planning work on the project.

The overall project cost is estimated at DKK 128 million.
