Vaccine eligibility extends to ages 16+
The original vaccination programme listed the 16-24 age group as the last in line to receive Covid-19 vaccines.
However, since recent developments have shown that young people are at high risk of infection, ages 16 and above will now be vaccinated ahead of schedule, reports corona.fo.
People aged 45 and above are still welcome to register for vaccines.
The registration site is currently only available in Faroese, but an English version will be available soon.
Those requiring assistance with filling in the forms can call 304545 on weekdays between 2pm and 4pm. Questions can also be directed to the Corona hotline (304040), open Mondays-Thursdays 10am-3pm.
Vaccinations resuming next week
A new batch of vaccines is due to arrive on Wednesday 2 June, with vaccinations scheduled to resume the following day.
Vaccine registration will reopen early next week. Details will be announced on corona.fo. The Hospital Service is asking people not to enter the registration system until early next week as this may disrupt the system.
According to the latest vaccination figures on corona.fo, updated yesterday, show that 19,442 people (36.5 percent of the population) have received the first shot of the vaccine, while 9,204 (17.3 percent) have received the second shot.
