All not fully vaccinated people who visited Tórshavn’s Sirkus and Basecamp nightclubs on Saturday night should get tested for Covid-19 immediately.

So says the chief medical officer after a person who tested positive on Saturday visited the two nightclubs.

The person did not receive the positive test result until yesterday morning.

“This person was infected with the Delta variant and may have passed it on to others on Saturday night,” says chief medical officer Lars Fodgaard Møller.

“We believe that we have to a large extent had the Covid situation under control up to now, but in cases such as this one where a super spreader enters busy nightclubs, it makes sense to alert the public.”
