U17 football: Faroes 1 – China 1
The Faroese U17 side drew 1-1 with China yesterday at Tórsvøllur in Tórshavn.
The match was a friendly game as part of the World Nordic Tournament for U17 national teams, where China and Northern Ireland participated as guest nations.
The Faroese team had lost all its previous games in the tournament and were playing catch-up for most of the game against China.
But in extra time Bergur Jákupsson Poulsen equalised with a header after a corner kick.
To put the result into perspective: there are some 22,000 Chinese citizens for every Faroese citizen.
