Traffic lights at the Glasir educational centre

Tórshavn City Council has long been aware that the opening of the new educational centre in Marknagil, Tórshavn, would cause a certain degree of traffic congestion.

And now the council has decided that there is a need to install traffic lights in the area.

The plan is to split the Marknagilsvegur road into three lanes, along with a separate lane for buses and bicycle paths on both sides of the road.

According to the council, the Marknagilsvegur road is wide enough to accommodate the construction work without causing significant traffic disruptions.

The traffic lights will be installed at the two crossings to the west of the Glasir building.
